Yesterday saw us hosting New Writers Day, the Festival Fringe and Strange Bedfellows exhibition at the Ron Cooke Hub, plus various events across York - Holgate Windmill, Acomb Library, Yorkshire Museum and Jorvik DIG.
New Writers Day consisted of four wonderful sessions of readings by some of Britain's best up-and-coming authors, including three of Granta Magazine's Best of Young British authors 2013 -
Ross Raisin (God's Own Country),
Kamila Shamsie (Burnt Shadows) and
Jenni Fagan (The Panopticon).

This week our Festival highlights include
Brian Sewell on Tuesday,
Michael Wood talking about King Athelstan on Wednesday (although these events are sold out, there may be tickets available on the door - although we can't guarantee everyone will get a seat), an evening of
polar exploration on Thursday with exhibitions and two excellent talks and lots, lots more! Do check out the
